About Ama Homecare
We are Ama Homecare, based in Rickmansworth and supporting people in their own homes across this part of Hertfordshire. We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to live independently. Every arrangement begins with a visit rather than a brochure. We sit down with the person, and with family if they want to be part of it, and work out what is genuinely hard, what is still manageable, and what kind of help would actually make a difference. From there we agree a plan together, which might be a single morning call or several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and the running of the household. We are careful about continuity. Sending the same carers to the same people is better care by any measure, and it is also what gives somebody the confidence to mention a problem they would never raise with a stranger. Our carers are trained for the specific work they are sent to do and are properly supervised. Where district nurses, GPs or social workers are involved, we keep in contact with them so that support joins up instead of running in parallel. Please call us if you would like to talk about support at home, and we will come out and discuss it with you.
