About One Step Domiciliary Care
One Step Domiciliary Care provides support in people's own homes in Potters Bar and across Hertfordshire. We work with older people, adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, younger adults, and people recovering from an eating disorder. We try to begin in the right place, which is a conversation about somebody's actual life rather than a list of tasks. What does a good week look like? What gets in the way of it? What would you rather do yourself? Visit times follow from the answers, and we expect to change them, because lives move. For some of the people we support the work is personal care, medication and making the day run safely. For others it is quite different, with somebody alongside them at college, at work, on the bus or at an appointment. Where the work is sensitive we go carefully and without judgement, because recovery rarely runs in a straight line. Consistency carries enormous weight here, particularly for autistic people and for anybody whose day depends on knowing what is coming, so changes get proper notice and we hold to what we agreed. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
