About Lead Care
We are Lead Care, a home care agency in Hitchin, Hertfordshire. We support people in their own homes, working with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and people affected by eating disorders or by alcohol and drug misuse. Covering that range means we plan around the individual rather than fitting people into categories. The first conversation is about what somebody's ordinary day looks like, what has become difficult and what they want to go on doing themselves. Some of the people we support need patience over a long stretch rather than intensity over a short one. Where progress is not a straight line, the most useful thing a carer can be is steady and unshockable, arriving as agreed and not treating a difficult week as a reason to withdraw. We work alongside GPs, community teams, clinical staff and social workers, and we hold onto continuity of carers wherever the rota allows. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
