About Sodark Care
Sodark Care supports people in their own homes across Hemel Hempstead and Hertfordshire. We work with older people and with younger adults who need help to manage everyday life on their own terms. Most of what we do is ordinary and matters enormously. Helping somebody wash and dress at the start of the day, prompting or administering medication, cooking a meal that is actually wanted, getting the shopping and the laundry done, and being a familiar face for someone who might otherwise speak to nobody. Done well, these things let people stay in the house they know. Done carelessly, they turn a home into a schedule. So we plan calls around the person's own routine rather than the convenience of a rota, keep the team going into a household small and steady, and give notice when a regular carer is away. We agree the plan with the person, write it down plainly and revisit it when things change. Our carers are trained before they work alone, supervised in people's homes once they do, and expected to raise anything that concerns them straight away rather than saving it for a review. Our office is there to be rung. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are considering care at home in Hemel Hempstead, we are happy to visit and talk it through without pressure.
