About Home Instead Central & Chilterns

Home Instead Central Hemel Hempstead and Chilterns provides care at home across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding towns and villages. Our visits are built around the person rather than around a list of tasks, and they can be anything from a short daily call to several hours of support at a time. For older people we help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, laundry, shopping and getting out and about. Often the most valuable part of a visit is the company: sitting down properly with somebody, having a conversation and not rushing off. For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers visiting, work with the routine that already suits the household and avoid rearranging a home somebody knows well. We support adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, where the emphasis is independence and communication that suits the person, and adults with mental health needs, where reliability does most of the good. For people with a physical disability we help with moving safely and managing at home, and where there is sight or hearing loss we adapt how we communicate.
