Chosen Healthcare provides support at home for people in Hatfield and the surrounding parts of Hertfordshire. Our visits range from a short call to start the day through to several each day and longer periods of support, and the pattern is agreed with the person rather than handed to them. For older people we help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, laundry, shopping and getting out to appointments or to see friends. We also watch for the changes that are easy to overlook, a fading appetite, low mood, somebody less steady than last month, and we raise them early with the family or the doctor. For people living with dementia we keep the same care workers visiting wherever the rota allows, work with the routine the household already has and avoid rearranging a home somebody knows well. We support adults with mental health needs, where reliability and an absence of judgement do most of the good, and people with a physical disability who need help to move safely and manage day to day. We also support younger adults, fitting visits around work, study and family. Our care workers are trained for the people they actually visit, and we would rather turn work away than take on something we cannot do properly.
