Care By Us supports people in their own homes across north London and west Hertfordshire, working from our base in Hatfield. We work with older people and people living with dementia, with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, with people who have mental health needs, physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, with younger adults, with people recovering from an eating disorder and with people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. That breadth works because every package is planned individually. We visit first, talk it through with the person and anyone they want present, agree in plain language what help is needed and what they want from it, then review it as things change. Where someone has mental health needs or is in recovery, we agree in advance what a difficult period looks like for them and what they want us to do, so nobody is improvising at the worst moment. Where somebody is working on their relationship with alcohol or drugs, we support the plan they have chosen without lecturing them. Consistent, familiar carers make all of this work, so we match people carefully, introduce carers properly and keep teams small. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding overall. We were pleased, and we know it has to be earned again in every visit.
