About Wye Care
We are Wye Care, a home care provider based in Ross on Wye and supporting people in their own homes across Herefordshire. We support older people, people living with dementia, adults with a physical disability, and younger adults who need help to manage at home. What we actually do varies from one household to the next. It might be a morning call to help someone wash, dress and get breakfast, support with medication through the day, help with meals and the running of the house, or several visits daily where somebody needs more substantial care to stay where they want to be. Working in a rural county has taught us to be realistic about time and travel. We would rather agree a schedule we can genuinely keep than promise something that falls apart the first week. We also keep our carers working with the same people wherever we can, because in a scattered area that continuity is often the main thing standing between somebody and real isolation. Everything starts with a visit and a conversation. We look at what the person can still do and want to keep doing, agree a plan with them and with family where that is wanted, and adjust it as things change. We liaise with district nurses, GPs and social workers when they are involved. If you are thinking about care at home for yourself or a relative, please ring us and we will come and talk.
