About Caremark
We are Caremark (Harrow), a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across the London Borough of Harrow. We work with older people and younger adults, people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and people affected by eating disorders or by alcohol and drug misuse. Covering that range means we plan around the individual rather than fitting people into categories. The first conversation is about what somebody's ordinary day looks like, what has become difficult and what they want to go on doing themselves. Everything else follows from that, and we revisit it as circumstances change, because they do. Continuity is the part we guard most carefully. Sending the same small group of carers to the same household is harder to arrange than it sounds and it improves care more than anything else we could do, particularly where someone finds new people difficult or communicates in a way that takes time to learn. We work alongside families, GPs, community teams and social workers so that support at home joins up with whatever else is going on around a person. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
