About Fission Care
Fission Care provides care and support to people in their own homes in Edgware and across Harrow. We support older people, including many living with dementia, adults with a physical disability, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who want support to manage day to day life. Our job is to make that workable for as long as it sensibly can be, and to be straight with families when circumstances are changing. We start by asking what is genuinely difficult and what somebody still manages perfectly well on their own, because good support builds on what is already there rather than taking over a household. From there we agree the visits and the tasks and set them out in plain language. They might cover help with washing and dressing, prompting and support with medication, preparing meals and drinks, moving safely around the home, laundry, shopping and getting to appointments. Dementia support is a large part of our work. That means arriving calmly, keeping to routines that make sense to the person, never rushing anybody, and noticing the small shifts that tell you something has changed. Where somebody has a sensory impairment we adapt how we speak and how we work so that they are properly included.
