About Freedom Care Group
Freedom Care Group provides care in people's own homes in Southampton and across Hampshire. We support older people, adults living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, adults with a physical disability, and younger adults. Our work is mostly about keeping somebody's own life going rather than replacing it. That might be a brief call each morning so a person can get up, wash and take their medication and then get on with the day unaided. It might be several visits covering personal care, meals and company. For a younger adult or somebody with a learning disability it is often the practical support that keeps a tenancy, a job or a college place going. We agree the shape of the support with the person and with anyone they want involved. Where somebody needs help to make a decision we give it in the form that works for them and we take the time it takes rather than deciding on their behalf. Keeping the same carers with the same person is a priority. Familiarity makes personal care easier to accept, and a carer who knows somebody's usual self will spot early when they are unwell or unhappy. Freedom Care Group does not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, so we cannot point you to one. Please ring us with your questions and we will answer them plainly.
