About Divine Light Care
We are Divine Light Care, a home care agency supporting people across Southampton and the surrounding parts of Hampshire in their own homes. Our visits are built around what someone needs rather than a set package. For many older people that is help at the start and end of the day, support with personal care, medication and meals, and a reliable presence that lets them carry on living in their own home. We also support people living with dementia, where a settled routine and familiar faces matter more than anything else we could bring; people whose mental health needs steady and respectful support; adults with a physical disability who need practical and skilled assistance; and younger adults who want their care to fit around work, study and family. We agree the plan with the person, involve relatives when that is what they want, and review it properly when things change. We also keep our rotas as steady as we can manage, because good home care comes down to the same people arriving when they said they would and knowing how this particular person likes things done. The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. We are happy to be asked about our training, our supervision and how we handle a complaint. If you are looking into care at home in Southampton, do call us. We will visit, talk through the options with you, and be straight about what we can and cannot provide.

More about the care at Divine Light Care
Dementia Care at Divine Light Care
Familiar faces and a settled routine are what Divine Light Care says matter most in its dementia work, and that is a sensible place to start. Someone living with dementia at home copes better when the person at the door is recognisable and arrives at roughly the hour expected. Good support also means care workers who notice distress early, who do not argue with a mistaken belief, and who know what to do when help is refused. Ask what dementia training the staff have had. Ask how the agency handles a person who becomes anxious in the late afternoon, and how visits are adjusted as the illness progresses.
Home Care at Divine Light Care
This agency reached the CQC register on 29 October 2026, so a family looking for reassurance will find a registration but no inspection report. Home care means someone comes to the door at agreed times and then leaves, which keeps a person in their own house, their own bed and their own habits. Across Hampshire the council will fund a package after a needs assessment, though many people in Southampton pay privately. Divine Light Care says the plan is agreed with the person and reviewed properly when things change. Ask how changes are picked up between those reviews, and who a relative telephones at the weekend.
Older Person Care at Divine Light Care
Home care in the South East typically runs from £29 to £35 an hour, which is the number a family in Southampton should start from when working out the cost of a week of visits. Divine Light Care describes visits built around what someone needs rather than a fixed package, with help at the start and the end of the day for many older people. In practice that is personal care, medication, meals and a reliable presence that makes staying at home possible for longer. The agency says it involves relatives when that is what the person wants. Ask how long each visit is and whether that time is realistic for everything on the plan. Ask what cover exists at night, since home care rarely extends through it.
Mental Health at Divine Light Care
No overall CQC rating has been published for this Southampton agency yet, so there is no independent judgement on how it handles mental health support. What helps most is usually unglamorous: visits that happen when promised, a routine that holds, and being treated as an adult. Ask what training the care workers have in mental health and who can be reached in a crisis.
Younger Adults at Divine Light Care
The council here is Hampshire, which would assess and may fund support for an adult under sixty five. Divine Light Care says it supports younger adults who want care to fit around work, study and family, and that fit is the whole point. Ask whether visit times can move with a shift pattern, and whether a small consistent team can be kept.
Physical Disability at Divine Light Care
Practical and skilled assistance is how the agency words this part of its registration, which at home means transfers, washing and dressing, and equipment used properly. The point is to enable rather than take over, so that someone keeps doing what they still can. Ask whether care workers are trained on the hoist or frame already in the house, and who arranges an occupational therapy review.
