About Bluebird Care
Bluebird Care in Southampton supports people in their own homes across the city and the surrounding parts of Hampshire. The people we visit include older people, adults living with dementia, autistic adults and people with a learning disability, people managing mental ill health or an eating disorder, adults with physical disabilities, people with sight or hearing loss, younger adults, and people whose lives are affected by alcohol or drug misuse. That breadth means we cannot work from a single template. What a younger adult in recovery needs bears little resemblance to what an older person living with dementia needs, and the only way to get either right is to start from the individual. We think home care stands or falls on turning up when we said we would and sending somebody the person actually gets on with. So we spend time on introductions before care starts, keep teams small and local, and give notice when a regular carer is away. Where somebody is managing a mental health condition, an eating disorder or a problem with alcohol or drugs, we offer reliability without judgement and work alongside the specialist teams involved. Before anyone works alone they train with us, and they keep training afterwards. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please ring if you would like to talk things through.
