Our visits cover personal care, support with medication, meals, help around the house and getting out to appointments or into town. With dementia, continuity is not a nice extra. A carer the person recognises, arriving at roughly the time they expect, who already knows how they take their tea and what helps when they are anxious, achieves far more in half an hour than a stranger could in twice that. We plan rotas around this. Where sight or hearing is reduced, we adapt how we communicate and keep things where the person expects to find them.
