We are Bluebird Care Andover and Stockbridge, a home care agency supporting people in their own homes across Andover, Stockbridge and the surrounding part of Hampshire. We exist so that people do not have to leave a home they love in order to get the care they need. We support older people and younger adults. That includes people living with dementia, people who have a learning disability, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Our visits cover personal care, help with medication, meals, mobility, housework, companionship and support to get out into the community. Some clients need a single short call each day and others need substantial support several times over. We plan care with the person, not for them. We ask about preferences that are easy to overlook, such as when someone likes to wake, how they take their tea and what they would far rather do for themselves. The plan is written down, followed and reviewed as needs shift. We keep the same carers visiting the same clients wherever we can, and we train our staff for the specific needs of the people they see. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is outstanding. We are proud of that and clear about what it means. It is a reason to be more careful, not less, because the standard now has to be met on every visit.
