Safe
Risks to people and the measures to control them were in place. People were safeguarded from harm and abuse, and there was a culture of acting on concerns and learning from mistakes. Medicines were reviewed and based on each person's support needs, and recruitment processes were sound.
Effective
Staff had been trained to support people with a range of diverse needs and said they felt supported by senior staff. People were encouraged to make their own decisions about meals and to eat a healthy diet.
Responsive
CQC said the service was outstandingly responsive to people's needs. The provider promoted a highly person-centred culture, and staff used creative and highly personalised strategies to help people live meaningful and active lives. This had improved people's confidence, access to the community and daily opportunities.
Well-led
A strong leadership team promoted equality and empowerment of people using the service. Managers had a robust framework to monitor the service and regularly reviewed their approach to make improvements. CQC recommended that the service monitors and analyses the impact of new initiatives on people.
