About Community Support Services
Gloucestershire Community Support is a home care agency in Gloucester, supporting adults in their own homes and in the community. Most of our work is with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, particularly younger adults, and we support older people too. The support is aimed at independence rather than at doing things for people. That might mean help with cooking, shopping, money, appointments and keeping a tenancy going, or support to get out, use local facilities, take up work or study and keep hold of friendships. The measure we care about is whether somebody's week contains things they chose and look forward to. If a person's life has quietly narrowed to the four walls of their flat while the paperwork says everything is fine, then the support is not working, however reliably the calls are delivered. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. We say that plainly and would encourage anyone considering us to meet the manager and ask for references. If you are looking into support in Gloucestershire, please get in touch and we will discuss what would genuinely help.
