About Community Forensic Service
We provide community based care and support to adults in Gloucester and across Gloucestershire, working with people whose needs cut across several areas at once. That includes adults with learning disabilities and autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, people affected by alcohol or drug misuse, and both younger adults and older people. The people we support have often had a difficult time with services. Plans made about them rather than with them, assessments that arrived at conclusions they did not recognise, and relationships that ended whenever a contract did. So we place a lot of weight on doing the unglamorous things properly. Turning up. Being consistent. Explaining what we are doing and why. Being honest about what we can and cannot offer, including when the honest answer is that somebody needs something we are not the right team to give. Support is planned with each person and reviewed as things change, and we work alongside health, social care and other professionals involved so that nobody is left coordinating their own care between agencies that do not speak to one another. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating.
