About Brandon Supported Living
We provide supported living across Gloucestershire for adults with learning disabilities, autistic people, people with physical disabilities and people with loss of sight or hearing, working with younger adults and with older people. Supported living means the house or flat belongs to the person rather than to us. We come in to help with whatever makes living there possible, and the aim is always that somebody runs their own life as far as they are able to. In practice that means the unglamorous things that make independence real: managing a tenancy, dealing with letters and bills, handling money, shopping and cooking, keeping appointments, getting to work, college or wherever a person wants to spend their time, and having staff alongside when something feels beyond facing alone. We ask what a person wants their life to look like before we suggest anything, and we take seriously that it is their life and their decisions. Consistency of staff counts for a great deal, particularly for autistic people, so we keep our teams as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen. At our most recent inspection the Care Quality Commission rated us outstanding overall. We are pleased with that and conscious that a rating describes a moment rather than a guarantee. If you are looking for support of this kind, please get in touch.
