About Lending Hands
We are Lending Hands, a home care agency based in Bodmin and supporting adults across this part of Cornwall. We visit people in their own homes, providing the help that makes staying there workable. We support older people and people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need help with daily life. The work is practical: washing and dressing, support with medication, meals prepared properly, shopping, housework and a hand getting out of the house. For some people that is one call a day and for others it is several. Covering a good deal of countryside as well as the town, we plan our rounds realistically. A visit out in a village should be as dependable as one in the middle of Bodmin, and if we cannot promise that we would rather say so at the outset than let somebody down later. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. While that is the case, please test us with direct questions: how we recruit and train our workers, who supervises them, what happens when a visit runs late, and who you can reach in the evening or at the weekend. Ring us and we will answer plainly, including telling you if we are not the right fit.
