About Visiting Angels
We are Cheshire East Visiting Angels, a home care agency working out of Macclesfield and supporting people across Cheshire East. Every hour we provide is spent in somebody's own home, arranged around their day rather than ours. Our work covers a broad range. We support older adults, including many people living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. In practice that means no two rounds look the same, and we plan them individually rather than by postcode convenience. We care a great deal about who comes through the door. Home care goes wrong when a stranger arrives in a hurry, gets things in the wrong order and leaves. It goes right when the same two or three people turn up, know where the kettle is, notice that you seem quieter than last week, and have time to say so. We build our rotas with that in mind and we would rather turn work away than stretch ourselves to the point where it stops being true. What we actually do is help with washing and dressing, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and company, in whatever mixture suits. We have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no rating to point you at. In its place we offer a conversation, a visit and the names of people who will speak for us.
