About Council Domiciliary Care Service
We are the domiciliary care team run by Cheshire East Council, working from Macclesfield and supporting people in their own homes across the borough. Being part of the council means we sit alongside social work teams, community health colleagues and reablement, and that makes it easier to join up the support around a person instead of leaving families to chase separate parts of the system. The people we visit are varied. We support older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing mental ill health, people with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss. We also support adults living with an eating disorder and adults affected by alcohol or drug use, and we work with younger adults as well as older people. Much of what we do is short and practical. Help to get up, wash and dress, support with medication, meals and getting safely to bed. Some of it is about regaining ground after illness or a stay in hospital, where the aim is for someone to need us less over time rather than more. Either way, the plan is agreed with the person and with anyone they want present, and it changes as they do. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are worried about a relative in Cheshire East, or about managing at home yourself, please get in touch and we will talk through what support could look like.
