About Ella's homecare
We are Ella's homecare, a home care agency working in Camden and the surrounding parts of London. We support people in their own homes, from older people who need a little help to stay independent through to adults with needs that require careful daily support. We work with people living with dementia, with adults who have a learning disability and autistic adults, with people managing a mental health condition, and with those who have a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. That is a broad range, and the common thread is that each person wants to stay in their own home and is entitled to support shaped around that home rather than around our convenience. In practice we spend a lot of effort on continuity. Sending the same small group of carers to the same person is not always simple to arrange, but it is the single thing that makes the most difference, particularly for someone with dementia who finds a new face unsettling, or for someone who communicates in a way that takes a while to learn. We would rather get the rota right than be flexible about it. We also try to be straightforward with families about what we can and cannot cover, because an honest conversation at the start saves a great deal of difficulty later. Support is reviewed regularly and changed when it needs changing. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
