About Chinese Community Centre
We are a community organisation in Camden as well as a provider of care at home, and the two things are not separate. We support people in their own homes across the borough, and much of what we do grows out of knowing the community we are part of. Most of the people we visit are older, including those living with dementia, where the same familiar carers arriving at familiar times does more good than anything else we can arrange. We also support people living with mental health needs, people with a physical disability, helping with mobility, personal care and the tasks that have become difficult to manage alone, and people with a visual or hearing impairment, where how we communicate matters as much as what we do. Care feels very different when it comes from people who understand somebody's background, and we think that understanding is part of the job rather than an extra. Familiar food, familiar language and familiar customs are not small comforts when someone is unwell or unsettled. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people we support and their families what could be better, and we act on what we are told. If you would like to talk through care at home in Camden, please get in touch.
