About The Gatehouse
The Gatehouse provides care at home for people across High Wycombe and the surrounding parts of Buckinghamshire. We exist so that needing support does not have to mean leaving the house you know, the street you know and the routines you have built over years. Our visits are shaped around the person. For some that means help with washing and dressing, medication and meals. For others it means support to stay safe and confident at home while living with dementia, where familiar surroundings and familiar faces do a great deal of the work. We also support younger adults, people managing mental health conditions, people living with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss. How we communicate, how long we stay and what we do while we are there all follow from what the person actually wants. Continuity is what makes home care work, so we put real effort into sending the same small team rather than whoever is free. Over time our carers come to know the person properly, which is what allows them to spot when something is off. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we are upfront about that with everyone who calls. If you would like to talk things through, we will come out, listen and give you an honest view, including if we think someone else would suit you better.
