About Chiltern Support and Housing
Chiltern Support and Housing works with people in their own homes in High Wycombe and the surrounding area. We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with mental health needs, physical disabilities or a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults, and people affected by alcohol or drug misuse. A good deal of our work is supported living, where the person holds their own tenancy and our role is to make independent life workable rather than to run it for them. That can mean support with cooking, budgeting, keeping a home going, managing health and appointments and getting out to work, college or the places somebody enjoys, alongside personal care where it is needed. Support is planned with the person, in words they recognise as their own, and reviewed as they move on. Where somebody has mental health needs, we agree in advance what a difficult period looks like and what they want us to do. Where somebody is working on their relationship with alcohol or drugs, we back the plan they have chosen without moralising about it. Where a person wants to need us less over time, we treat that as the aim and plan for it openly. The Care Quality Commission has not yet published an overall rating for us. We are registered with them and work to their standards. Please get in touch to talk things through.
