About Shining Care
Shining Care supports people across Bristol in their own homes. We are a home care agency with a simple purpose, which is to make it possible for somebody to stay where they want to be for as long as that is sensible and safe. Most of our work is with older people who need help with the ordinary things that have become harder, washing and dressing, medication, preparing meals, shopping and getting out of the house safely. We also support younger adults, whose circumstances and priorities are often very different from what people expect of home care, and we plan their support around what they actually want rather than around a standard package. We try to send the same carers to the same people week after week. It sounds like a small point of scheduling, but it is the difference between being looked after by somebody who knows you and being visited by a stranger working through a list. It also means our team notice quickly when something has changed. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather say so plainly. Until we do, judge us on whether we turn up when we said, whether we stay the full time and whether we ring you rather than waiting to be chased.
