About Alef Care

We are a home care agency in Bristol, providing support to people in their own homes across the city. Our work is simple to describe and particular in the doing: we send trained carers to people who need help to manage at home, and we arrange that help around the life somebody already has. People usually come to us at a point of change. A fall, a stay in hospital, a diagnosis, or the slow realisation that managing alone has become harder than it used to be. What follows depends entirely on the person. For some, a single visit each morning to help with washing, dressing and medication is enough. Others need calls through the day and into the evening, help with meals and shopping, and support to move about the house safely. We agree what is needed with the person and whoever they want involved, then keep checking that it still fits. Continuity is the part we work hardest at. Care at home only goes well when the person and the carer know each other, so we try to keep the same staff visiting the same households. Our carers are trained for the needs they are asked to meet and can reach a senior colleague whenever they want advice.
