About SeeAbility South Gloucestershire Support Service

SeeAbility provides support to people in their own homes in and around Bristol and South Gloucestershire, working with adults who have a learning disability or autism. Our approach is to build support around the individual rather than to offer a fixed package. What helps most, in our experience, is communication pitched to suit the person, a routine that can be relied upon and support that builds skills instead of quietly replacing them. We take time to understand how somebody prefers to be approached and what they are trying to tell us, including when that is not put into words, and we give people the space to do things their own way even when stepping in would be quicker. Practically, our support can include help with personal care, medication, meals, managing a household, getting to appointments and taking part in ordinary life outside the front door. Where somebody has a goal of their own, whether that is cooking unaided, using public transport or getting into work or education, we plan support that draws back steadily as their confidence grows. We do not currently hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Please contact us and ask in detail how we would go about supporting you or your relative.
