About North Rehabilitation Care Services
Bristol North Rehabilitation Care supports people in their own homes across the north of Bristol. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Rehabilitation is a particular kind of help and it has a clear purpose. Rather than doing things for people indefinitely, we work alongside somebody for a period, usually after an illness, a fall or a spell in hospital, to help them get back as much independence as they can manage. That might mean practising getting in and out of a chair, rebuilding confidence in the kitchen, getting used to new equipment, or simply having somebody there while a person tries again. It asks for patience from everybody involved, ours included. Standing back while somebody struggles with a task they used to find easy is harder than stepping in, but it is usually what helps. Where people need ongoing support rather than rehabilitation, we help with personal care, medication, meals and getting out of the house, and we plan that with the person and their family. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you would like to discuss support at home in north Bristol, please get in touch and we will talk it through.
