About Goldcrest Healthcare Service
Goldcrest Healthcare provides home care across Bristol, supporting people in their own homes. The people we visit cover a broad range. Most are older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support younger adults, people with a learning disability, autistic people, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. Bristol is a city of steep hills and old houses, and that has a direct bearing on our work. A set of stairs that was nothing twenty years ago becomes the whole problem. We look at the house as it actually is rather than an idealised version, and we work out what would genuinely help. Sometimes that is a carer twice a day. Sometimes it is one longer visit and a frank conversation with the family about equipment. Visits cover washing and dressing, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and company, from half an hour upwards. We aim to send the same small group of workers to each person, because being recognised at the door is worth more than any written procedure. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and we will come to the house, listen first, and tell you honestly whether we can help.
