About Aptine
We are Aptine, a home care agency supporting people in Bracknell and across Bracknell Forest. We provide care in people's own homes, arranged around their lives rather than around a rota. The people we visit are varied. Many are older and want reliable help with personal care, medication, meals and keeping the house running. We also support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions, people with a physical disability, people whose sight or hearing has changed, and younger adults who need support to live the life they want. Support begins with a proper conversation about what would actually help. We want to know how someone likes their day arranged, what they would rather keep doing themselves, and where the real difficulties are, because those are not always the ones a form would identify. The plan we agree is written down and reviewed as things change. Wherever the rota allows, the same carers go to the same households, since being known by the person who comes through your door changes the whole experience of receiving care. Our carers are trained and supervised, and they are expected to speak up when something concerns them rather than leave it for the next visit. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking clients and families what could be better.
