About Select Support Partnerships
We are Select Support Partnerships in Blackburn, providing support to people in their own homes across Blackburn with Darwen and the surrounding area. We work with older people, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, younger adults building independent lives, and people whose lives have been affected by alcohol or drug use. Much of our work is about enabling rather than doing. Where somebody wants to cook for themselves, manage their own money, keep a tenancy going, use public transport or hold down a job or a course, we work at it with them patiently and at their pace. We do not decide in advance what is beyond anybody, and we do not treat a difficult stretch as proof that something was unrealistic. We recruit for attitude as much as for experience. A good many of the people we support have been let down before, and what matters most to them is usually somebody who turns up, listens properly and does not give up when progress is slow. We work closely with families, social workers, community mental health teams, GPs and specialist services, and we keep support under review as people move forward. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to discuss support.
