About Care Station NW
We are Care Station NW, a home care agency supporting people across Blackburn and Darwen. We visit people in their own homes to help with the parts of daily life that have become hard to manage on their own. Much of our work is with older people, helping with washing and dressing, getting up and settling at night, medication, meals, shopping and light housework. We support people living with dementia, where the same familiar carers and a routine that does not shift about make more difference than anything else we could offer. We also work with younger adults and with people who have a learning disability or who are autistic, supporting independence in practical ways, from cooking and budgeting to getting to college, work or an appointment. We plan visits to be long enough to do the job properly, because rushed care is poor care, and we try hard to keep the same carers going to the same people week after week. Care plans are written with the person and their family, and we change them when things change rather than at a set date on a calendar. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
