Swallow is a home care agency based in Radstock, supporting people in their own homes across Bath and North East Somerset. We work with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, and the aim of our support is a settled, independent life in a place the person has chosen. We shape support around the individual. For one person that may mean help with cooking, cleaning, shopping and managing bills. For another it may mean support to get to work, college or a club, or to keep in contact with family and friends. For someone else it may include personal care. We ask what the person wants from their week and build the support around that rather than offering a fixed package. How we communicate is as important as what we do. We learn how each person likes information given to them, how they tell us when something is wrong, and what helps them feel calm when a day is difficult. Routines are respected, changes are explained in advance where possible, and we keep the same familiar staff involved wherever we can. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We are pleased to hold it, and we treat it as a floor rather than a ceiling.
