About The Firs Care Home
The Firs Care Home is a residential home in Kidderminster. Most of the people who live here are older, and many have reached a point where staying at home had become a worry to themselves or their families. We support people living with dementia, people with a physical disability, and people with sight or hearing loss, and we take respite bookings for short planned stays. Day to day, our aim is that people carry on being themselves. Care with washing, dressing and medication is given discreetly and at the person's own pace. Meals are cooked on the premises, and if somebody wants toast at ten in the morning instead of a cooked breakfast at eight, that is not a problem. We ask families to tell us about the person's history, because knowing what somebody did for a living, or what music they grew up with, does more for a difficult afternoon than any amount of paperwork.
