About Valeries Care Home and Valeries Home Care
We are Valeries Care Home and Valeries Home Care, based in Crowthorne in the borough of Wokingham. We provide residential care for older people, both as a permanent home and as a respite stay for those who need looking after for a shorter period. Ours is residential rather than nursing care, which means we support people with the ordinary business of daily living: washing and dressing, meals, medication, getting about safely, and the company that makes a day worth getting up for. Where someone's health needs go beyond that, we work with district nurses and GPs rather than trying to cover it ourselves, and we are honest with families about where that line sits. Respite is a real part of what we do rather than an afterthought. Sometimes it follows a hospital admission and someone needs a few weeks of support before going home. Sometimes a family carer is worn out and needs a break without feeling guilty about it. Either way the person staying gets a proper assessment and the same care as anyone living here permanently. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and our most recent overall rating is requires improvement. We are working through the findings from that inspection, and anyone considering a place here is welcome to ask us directly about what was raised and what we have done since.
