We also offer respite care for those who need a short break from their usual arrangements, or whose families need some time to rest. We know that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a person or family will ever make, and we do not take that responsibility lightly. Our aim is to make Hammonds feel like a genuine home, somewhere people feel safe, respected, and comfortable in their daily lives. We try to get to know each person as an individual, understanding their routines, preferences, and what matters most to them, so that the care we provide fits around their life rather than the other way around. We are open about the fact that our most recent CQC inspection resulted in a "requires improvement" rating. We have taken that feedback seriously and are actively working through the improvements identified. We believe in being honest with the people we support and their families, and we would rather be upfront about where we are and what we are doing about it than gloss over it. Progress is being made and we are committed to ensuring that care at Hammonds continues to develop and improve.
