About The Richardson Mews
The Richardson Mews is a residential care home in Northampton. We are home to older people and to younger adults who need support with daily life, including people living with mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. What we offer is residential rather than nursing care. Staff are on duty day and night to help with washing, dressing, medication and meals and to keep the household running, while doctors and district nurses come in when clinical care is needed. For a great many people that is exactly the right level of support, and it costs them far less of their independence than a clinical setting would. Supporting people with mental health conditions in a residential setting works best when it is steady and undramatic. People arrive at different points, and what most of them need is not intensity but stability, and a place where the basics are taken care of while they find their footing again. Beyond the practical help, people run their own lives here. For residents with a physical disability, time is what matters most. Transfers and personal care take as long as they take, and rushing is where dignity and safety are both lost. Respite and short stays are available. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring to arrange a visit.
