About St Georges
St Georges is a residential care home in Northampton supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. We also offer respite stays. This is somebody's home before it is anything else. People choose how their rooms look, what they eat, when they get up and how much of the day they spend in company. Those choices are most of what makes a place worth living in, and they take steady effort to protect when staff change and pressures build. Support is planned around what each person wants to be able to do rather than only around risk. Cooking, shopping, managing money, using the bus, getting to college, work or activities, and keeping up with family and friends. Where somebody needs a great deal of help, we still look hard for the parts they can take on themselves. Communication and environment get real attention. We learn how each person tells us what they want, including those who use little or no speech. Where sight or hearing is reduced we keep things where people expect to find them. Noise, lighting and predictability all shape how a day turns out. Where mental ill health is part of the picture, we work closely with community teams. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch to visit.
