About Highfield
Highfield is a residential care home in Northampton supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, and younger adults building a more independent life. Ordinary life is what we are aiming at. People here are supported to cook, shop, keep their own space as they want it, get out to college, work or a club, and have a genuine say in how the week is arranged. For autistic residents we pay close attention to routine, to explaining changes well in advance, and to keeping somewhere quiet available when the house feels like too much. For people managing mental health conditions, what helps most is usually steadiness: reliable support, no drama, and nobody treated as a failure for having a bad week. Respite stays are available for people needing support for a short period, or for families needing a break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is Requires Improvement. We would rather put that in front of you ourselves. We understood what was asked of us, we have been working steadily through it, and we are willing to go through the detail with anyone who asks. Please get in touch if you would like to visit and see the place for yourself.
