About Collingtree Park
We are Collingtree Park, a residential care home in Northampton. We look after older people, including those living with dementia, and we also support younger adults whose needs suit a residential setting. Respite stays are available. Moving into a care home is a considerable upheaval, and we try to make it feel less like an ending than it can appear. People arrive with their own furniture, pictures and habits, and we work around those rather than expecting everybody to take on ours. What time you like to wake, where you want your breakfast, how sociable you feel on a given day: those decisions stay with you. For people living with dementia, most of the useful work is in the detail. Knowing somebody's history and the job they did. Recognising early what tends to unsettle them. Being willing to go at their pace rather than the rota's. That prevents far more distress than it costs in time. We also make a point of supporting what people can still do themselves, because losing that unnecessarily is very hard to put right and is often the thing people fear most. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Relatives are welcome at any reasonable hour. Please ring us if you would like to visit.
