About Oakfield Croft
Oakfield Croft is a residential care home in Sale, Trafford. We care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and adults with physical disabilities, and we take respite bookings for people who need a stay of a few weeks. We keep this a home rather than a facility. Rooms belong to the people in them, with their own furniture and pictures. The day runs at the pace of those living here, there is company and activity for anybody who wants it and a quiet corner for anybody who does not, and the food is meant to be enjoyed rather than got through. For people living with dementia, consistency does most of the good. Familiar faces, a predictable routine, calm surroundings and time given rather than rushed. We learn about people's earlier lives so conversation has somewhere to go. Where somebody with a physical disability wants to keep doing things for themselves, we make sure equipment and layout help rather than hinder. Our staff know the people living here, which is how a change in health gets noticed early and taken to the GP or district nurse promptly. We have not yet had a full inspection under our current registration, so we would encourage anyone considering us to visit, look closely and ask whatever they want. Families in Trafford are welcome to ring and arrange a time.
