About Hatt House
Hatt House is a residential care home in Torquay, providing a permanent home for older adults who need help with the practical side of everyday life. We would like people to feel that they live here, with their own belongings around them and their own way of doing things respected. Our care covers personal care, medication, meals, mobility and company, with community health professionals called in when something clinical is needed. We support residents living with dementia, and we put our effort into consistency and calm rather than anything elaborate. We care for residents living with mental health conditions, where a settled environment and staff who spot early changes matter greatly, and for residents with physical disabilities or with a visual or hearing impairment, where we adapt how we communicate and how we help people move about so that dignity is not traded away for convenience. Respite stays are available, giving family carers a genuine break and allowing a prospective resident to spend time here first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would far rather you formed your own view than took ours on trust, so please visit on an ordinary day, talk to the people who live here and ask us the questions that actually matter to you.
