About Oldway Heights
Oldway Heights is a residential care home in Paignton, in Torbay. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with mental health conditions and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays for those who need care for a shorter time. We plan around the person rather than the house. Some of those who live here want company, a full week and plenty going on. Others prefer a quiet routine, their own space and help that appears when they ask for it. Neither is more valid than the other, and a home this size can accommodate both if the planning is done properly and reviewed when circumstances change. For people living with mental health conditions we aim to be consistent. Recovery is rarely a straight line, and a harder stretch should not cost somebody independence they have built up. We agree with each person what helps, what the early signs are when things are becoming difficult, and what they would like us to do at that point, and we work with community teams and GPs rather than around them. Torbay is where most of our residents have their family, friends and appointments, and we support them to keep all of that going. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering Oldway Heights, please visit, meet the staff and ask us anything you like.
