About Rafael Home
Rafael Home is a residential care home in Carshalton, Sutton, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism. We work mainly with younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for those who need support for a shorter period or whose usual carer needs a break. The Care Quality Commission most recently rated us outstanding overall. We are pleased about that, though what matters more day to day is that the people who live here have lives they actually want. Our approach is straightforward. The people here are adults, so they decide how their days go, what they eat, how their rooms look and what they want to work towards. Some are building skills around cooking, money, travel or work. Others want support to keep doing the things they already enjoy and to stay close to family and friends. We plan support with each person, using whatever way of communicating suits them best, and we take real care to understand what helps somebody feel settled and what causes them stress. We are part of the local community rather than separate from it. People here go to the shops, to clubs, to appointments and to see friends, with as much or as little support alongside them as they want. Families and advocates are genuinely welcome. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
