About Amethyst Care Home
Amethyst Care Home is a residential care home in Carshalton providing a home for older people and for younger adults who need support with everyday life. We support people living with dementia and people living with mental health conditions. We are not a large institution and we do not run like one. People keep their own routines as far as they possibly can, which means breakfast when you wake rather than when the trolley arrives, and a day shaped around what a person actually enjoys. The care covers washing and dressing, medication, meals cooked here, mobility and the many small things that become difficult alone. For people living with dementia and for those managing mental health conditions, we have found that patience and familiarity do more good than any amount of process. Our staff tend to stay, which means people here are looked after by faces they recognise, and that continuity counts for a great deal when memory or mood is unreliable. Families are part of the household rather than visitors to be managed. Come when it suits you, join us for a meal, and tell us if you think we have got something wrong. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. Please ring us if you would like to look round.
