About Dimensions 15a Vale Road
We are Dimensions at Vale Road in Aldershot, a residential care home supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment. We support both older people and younger adults. The home works rather like a shared household. People have their own rooms arranged the way they want them, the rest of the house belongs to everybody, and decisions about how things run are made with the people living here rather than for them. Support is built around the life each person wants. For some that means a busy week of activities out in the community, college or work. For others it means a settled rhythm at home with familiar company. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we work at it at their pace and we do not assume a ceiling on anybody. Communication is the foundation of this work. We take time to learn how each person expresses what they want, whether through speech, signs, pictures or the way they respond to something, and we make sure that knowledge is shared with every member of staff rather than held by one or two people. We work closely with families, social workers and health professionals, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Please contact us if you would like to visit and meet the people who live here.
