About Remyck House
Remyck House is a residential care home in Aldershot, Hampshire, providing a permanent home for older people who are no longer able to manage safely on their own. We want the place to feel like somewhere people live rather than somewhere they have been placed. Our care is residential rather than nursing. That means help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, mobility and company, with community health professionals brought in when something more clinical is needed. Many of our residents live with dementia. We put our effort into consistency and calm: familiar staff, a routine that holds steady, and reassurance given as often as it is needed without any suggestion that it has been asked for before. Respite care is available as well, which gives family carers a proper break and lets a prospective resident get a feel for the home first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather say that here ourselves than have a family come across it later. Our attention is on the areas raised, and we are not going to pretend the rating says something other than what it says. If you are thinking about the home for someone you love, please visit, talk to residents and relatives, and ask us directly about what you have read.
