About Oakview Residential Care Home
Oakview Residential Care Home provides residential care in Cheadle for older people, including people living with dementia. We offer permanent places and shorter respite stays. We are a home rather than an institution, and we work at keeping that true. People get up when they wake, eat what they like, and pass the day as they choose. There is company and activity for those who want it and none at all for those who would rather have a quiet corner and the paper. The care covers help with washing and dressing, prompting and administering medication, meals cooked on the premises, support with mobility, and somebody always about when a person wants them. For those living with dementia we hold to a steady routine and familiar staff, and we arrange the house so that it is easy to understand and move about in. We take the view that behaviour is nearly always communication, and the useful question is what somebody is trying to tell us. Families are welcome whenever they wish to come, and we would much rather hear a worry early than have it sit unspoken. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to come and look round.
